About the project

The Uusnivala electricity storage project is located in the town of Nivala. The project is planned in conjunction with Uusnivala substation.    

The electricity storage facility consists of batteries utilising lithium ion technology with a combined estimated capacity of approximately 50 MW / 110 MWh. 

OX2 signed an agreement to sell the Uusnivala electricity energy storage project to L&G NTR Clean Power Fund in August 2024. Read the press release here. 

Energy storage will play a key role in the electricity system of the future. OX2 is currently focusing on the development of both separate energy storage systems and systems combined with solar or wind power projects. Read more about energy storage here.
