Mažeikiai

Mažeikiai wind farm is located about 14 km northwest of the town of Mažeikiai with about 35,000 inhabitants, in northwestern Lithuania. The wind farm is situated in arable landscapes and adjoins the Latvian border in the north.

The plant consists of 19 wind turbines with a total height of 178.4 m and is expected to produce 149.6 GWh (149.6 million kWh) per year. The capacity on the wind turbines is 2.4 MW and the diameter of the rotor blades is 117 m.

The electricity transmission from the wind turbines takes place via a ground cable network to a transformer station newly built for the wind farm, where the electricity reaches the Litgrid electricity grid.

On March 31, 2017, IKEA took over the ownership and OX2 was entrusted with the management of the facility.
