OX2 participated in one of Business Sweden’s largest business delegations, bringing together over 100 representatives from Swedish and Italian companies. The event, held in Italy, featured speeches from Sweden’s Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch, and Italy’s Minister for Enterprise, Alfredo Urso.

Organized by Business Sweden in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Rome, the gathering underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties between the two countries.

As the EU’s third-largest economy and second-largest industrial country, Italy is already a key partner for Sweden. Both ministers emphasized the need to deepen collaboration, particularly in the context of North-South cooperation within the EU.

The event provided a great opportunity to introduce our new Country Manager in Italy, Paolo Tusa, who addressed the challenges and opportunities surrounding Europe’s transition to renewable energy in a round-table discussion. It also coincided with a major milestone for OX2, the commissioning of our first onshore wind farm in Italy, Maia, located in Puglia.

Another key highlight of the event was hearing directly from industry leaders about their ongoing innovations and energy needs, with Swedish companies like Alfa Laval, Tetra Pak, SAAB, and Getinge, alongside Italian industry giants such as Leonardo, ENI, Italgas, and Barilla.

A heartfelt thank you to Business Sweden and the Embassy, with special gratitude to Ambassador Jan Björklund, Minister Ebba Busch, and Minister Adolfo Urso for providing the platform to strengthen collaboration between Sweden and Italy.

The Business Sweden event was hosted by the Swedish Embassy in Rome and held at the Swedish Institute.
